Preschool Objectives
  • To provide exposure to the story of God’s love for man. By teaching basic Bible lessons, stressing the concepts: God loves them; God cares for them; Jesus died for their sins; and by teaching them ways in which they can show their love and thankfulness to God.
  • To teach a wide range of short songs both religious and secular.
  • To teach how to follow directions and how to adhere to basic social rules.
  • To stress getting along with others and sharing ideas and materials.
  • To teach recognition of child’s own name.
  • To develop good listening skills.
  • To stress visual discrimination (alike—different--sizing--positioning--patterning).
  • To nurture language development/communication skills.
  • To develop pre-writing skills.
  • To teach recognition of the basic colors and to use colors in various activities.
  • To teach recognition of basic shapes.
  • To foster awareness of the numbers 1-15 and the sequence and association of written symbols with physical objects.
  • To foster awareness of all letters of the alphabet, sound recognition and the sequence of letters.
  • To develop the fine motor skills used in coloring, cutting, gluing and doing puzzles.
  • To provide an opportunity to work with the various forms of art, such as finger painting, clay, brush painting, etc.
  • To provide an opportunity for imaginative play.
  • To provide an opportunity to develop large motor skills: running, hopping, skipping, etc.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ~ Ephesians 6:13
