(Please note that these results are only a snapshot of a child’s achievement, or what they have learned during the year. Their actual learning may be higher or lower than these results. At the same time, we can draw some general conclusions from the set of test results):

·  Trinity has about the same percentage of students in the Advanced and Proficient category as the state or Aberdeen County in reading (Trinity, 87%; Aberdeen, 90%; South Dakota, 86%) and has a higher percentage of students in the Advanced and Proficient category than the state (Trinity, 83%; Aberdeen, 83%; South Dakota, 78%).

·  The percentage of students in the Advanced category is substantially higher in both reading and math than in either Aberdeen or South Dakota (reading: Trinity, 37%; Aberdeen, 28%; South Dakota, 24% & math: Trinity, 44%; Aberdeen, 21%; South Dakota, 21%)

·  It is also worth noting that one Trinity student received a perfect score in reading, a rare accomplishment. We wish that student congratulations.

These results come as a gift from God. We are thankful to him that our students have met or exceeded the levels of achievement that is common in our area, and recognize these results as a result of his graciousness.

These tests are norm-based, which means that they compare the students to all other students in the nation who took the same test at the same time. The numbers show the percentile rank of the students. Put differently, each number shows how many students out of a hundred that class surpassed in taking the test. The test results are just one glimpse at how the students in our school are doing in academics.
